I was medically retired in 2009 and have traveled quite a bit. Been seen at many VA hospitals and clinics. I have always been able to call and get my paperwork transferred to a new clinic when I moved. Not here. They told me to come in with a DD-214. I’ve been with the VA for 16 years and this is the first time I’ve had to come in with a DD-214. What kinda backwards, technologically challenged VA is this?

This was a first visit to the facility. My father-in-law is a traveling veteran and need lab work completed prior to his appointment next week.

The EXPERIENCE during the check process and the wait after checking in was discouraging to say the least.

I haven't had the opportunity to address the situation with supervision yet as I chose to address it after we got my father-in-law back home.

I did call back to speak with the supervisor after returning home to request an email address to address the concerns in writing. Unfortunately, I was informed he was gone for the day.

I was addressed with the same negativity on the phone as we received in person. The receptionist inquired as to whether I was the person that had been there earlier with my family member from Oklahoma and proceeded to say the supervisor already was aware of the situation but I could call back or write tomorrow in a very condescending manner.

I agreed that I would be doing so and chose not to engage any further.

It's really heartbreaking to know that veterans serve this country and the positions are mainly filled by veterans yet some of them treat the veterans/family with very little dignity or respect.

I specifically did this review as it relates to the lab because the service received during the coordination of care in this area was amazing, and we arrived encouraged and excited that we had been blessed with such a great new team.

We pray that this experience and treatment was an isolated incident.

This review is strictly for my primary care doctor, Dr. Devkota. I am so grateful to her for listening to me and actually taking my concerns seriously. Treating me like a human.

My previous doctor at Grand Prairie constantly dismissed my pain, told me there was nothing wrong with me, would talk over me and do the absolute bare minimum, even telling me that if I wanted better care I should go to private practice. But Dr. Devkota seems like she genuinely cares and always looks for solutions when I need them. I want to cry out of gratitude for her. I’m so tired of advocating for myself but she makes it so much easier. Thank you

Paycheck to paycheck here. Three months now I've been waiting, standing in line, filling out paperwork and making phones calls. Every time being told that this time everything is good. This is month four of receiving a half payment. "They are backed up.", is the excuse this time. Thank God were not pushing off bills to pay other bills. (WE ARE!) Thank God at least there's food in the house. (BARELY!) Thank you Fort Worth Veterans Administration for all your hard work at making sure everyone gets screwed over equally. (Facts!)

The phone does ring --so it depends on which phone one is dialing. I had a great experience with the VA in Fort Worth. But then, I know how the system works and am persistent. A bit of humility goes a long way towards getting a positive response from VA workers.

I've been coming here every Monday since Feb 2024. Of all of the people and places I visit, this place always gives me a smile. From the awesome Welcome Desk team, to my KC Chiefs angels at the Trinity Clinic, to the Vaccination nurses who always take care of me, to the Pharmacy techs that take the time to explain everything, to my Audiologist tech that takes the time to talk to me about my new hearing aids and how she can't take care of plants (you can!)....and to my most important team in the Mental Health Clinic. Faye and the 1st people I meet every Monday ALWAYS smile and welcome me, before I head back to Kyler, Ron, Mitch, and the Rec Therapy team that work on getting the scrambled eggs right, and to Renee and my nurse Angela (Angel). I ALWAYS leave there a new person and even with a smile. It's full of heroes doing their best and showing the true definition of "selfless service". Thank you, TEAM, and keep fighting the good fight! As i entered the building, i thought i was at the wrong place. It felt so empty as i walked the clean corridors and could just hear my footsteps as i passed several empty offices.

I kept referring to it as a hospital because of its size but really, this is the biggest and the most quiet clinic i have ever been.

The facility itself…underwhelming compared to other facilities I’ve been to.

But not terrible…I guess?

Some* of the staff (*walk in clinic staff) were a bit off: sarcastic, pessimistic, plain rude or / either; uncaring.

And one member (& we’re talking admin staff - not even a medical hire, mind you) asking me questions that was none.of.her. business.
