My experience at this Location was pretty good! The time I had to wait went by pretty quickly for being at a Department of Motor Vehicles. The Ladies were helpful and doing their jobs actually. I totally understand that they had to verify my Identity especially with the Identity Theft going around and hyphenated Names too. I appreciate the service I got and I made it out in a decent amount of time especially withy application for the Real ID...

I love the process it takes for waiting in line here! After you've checked in, you give them your cell number. And you're able to see how many people are in front of you. It really didn't take as long as it used to💯👍🏼🤩GREAT JOB DMV😁

Giving my previous review I was going through hardships. Editing. I should only have mentioned I was waiting for my updated DL for 3 months+ before I finally got it. While waiting for it I made about 3-4 phone calls and 5-6 life chat support. Finally I got it.
Another thing to note, taking driving exam I was turned down by examiner who claimed i didn’t give priority of way to a pedestrians who had a nap while I was turning to the right. Funny. Thanks fully second attempt was successful.

I came today to the DMV on Normal St. in Hillcrest, and honestly I'm shocked at how easy and quick it was, and how friendly and helpful the staff Interacted with were. I've never been to a DMV as efficiently ran as this, and it was PACKED, which I was hoping it wouldn't be the day before Thanksgiving...
So I started by going on the CA DMV website and clicked the upper-right corner menu, selected Appointments, and used the "Get In Line" feature to get a spot in line before I even left the house, which saved me a good 45min of sitting there, and updated me so I know when I had to leave the house. The "Service Advisor" told me what documents to bring for my "Out of State (VA) Title Transfer and Registration in CA", so I was all prepared. There were 25+ windows, nearly all staffed, and the numbers were being called quickly ( unheard of in VA where they might have half of 7 windows staffed, and run like molasses). Once I arrived, I waited 10 min for my number, and the employee that helped me was very nice, informative, and got me all squared away with the documentation, and I retrieved my 30-day temp permit from another window (to get my Vehicle Inspection and SMOG done and come back for my plates.) I immediately left and drove around back to the line for the VIN / mileage inspection which took about 15min as there were a few cars ahead of me. The inspector was kind enough to tell me that if I had time there was a SMOG station around the corner. I went there and they guided me into an open bay and had me in/out in 10min. Went back to the DMV and spoke to the front desk, and waited for about 5min to show my paperwork and they signed off on my permanent tags and handed me my new CA license plates. Super quick and painless, I was dreading this being a long process and having to come back over multiple days or wait for a new title to come in the mail, etc... which this turned out to be way more convenient. Kudos to the DMV here in Hillcrest, a well-oiled machine.

Teila at window 9 is the best!! She is so calm, warm, and polite. I’ve never had a better experience at the DMV. Absolute best customer service. You can tell that helping people fulfills her. Make sure you get here between 8-9 am to avoid foot traffic.

It was mostly a smooth process since I had an appointment, but they lost a star for the rude woman at station 15. It was my first time at any CA DMV and I tried to ask her where to go, but she rudely dismissed me and told me she wasn’t there to answer questions. Everyone else was much more professional.
