This has been the best moving experience I've ever had. I want to give a shout out to the following gentleman: Andre, Kevin, Ali, and Jason for going ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!! They were helpful, kind, professional and courteous. I know people would say that's their job, but this was more than doing the job. It shows that they are invested in doing the absolute best job necessary to put customers mind at ease. I hope these 4 gentleman are recognized for being AMAZING men. I just experienced one of the worst truck rentals of my life because of this location and this location’s manager.

I rented a truck from another location in the Bronx and when I was getting ready to drive it back the door light in the cab wouldn’t turn off. Tried everything, then called customer service to see if there was a button or something I couldn’t find. I was uncomfortable driving in NYC traffic on a Saturday night in the dark, for about an hour, with the cab light on when I don’t drive that much as I don’t own a car. (I added a photo from earlier on in the day where the cab light is on even though the doors are closed/no door open light is on, this was an issue all day!)

Customer service transferred me to a supervisor who searched the nearest Uhaul location for me, and advised me to drop it off at this location. He said that everything was taken care of and they left notes in the account that I was advised to bring it here.

I arrive and they immediately tell me that I’m probably going to be charged fees, and that I should go inside and double check with the folks working inside.

Talk to a really nice girl (didn’t get her name) who needed help from the manager as I guess she was the only one who could make sure I wasn’t charged the fees.

I get asked to wait while the manager calls someone (it was never clarified if it was corporate or the location I picked it up from). At about 30 minutes into waiting I’m like “can I leave? I’m not really sure what I’m waiting for” to which the manager responds “I’m just trying to check because if not we are going to charge you hundreds in fees.” She said something about how they were reviewing my calls and she was on hold with a supervisor. She advised me to continue to wait, so I waited.

After being at Uhaul from about 5:30/5:45-6:45 the manager takes me out side and begins to argue with me about the cab light not being an issue. She has one of the men who cleans out the trucks check, and at first it’s an issue and then he slams the door shut and it turns off. She then goes “perfect. You can now drive it to the another location”.

Not only was I instructed to bring it to this location as I felt unsafe driving it, I have now been made to wait around an hour while she was on the phone/on hold.

I ask her to waive the fee and she starts arguing and yelling at me. She won’t tell me the fee amount and another woman at the counter has to answer my question because the manager won’t stop yelling or answer my question.

I go outside and the guys outside try to close the rental and tell me it’s going to be $450 to leave it. At this point I call customer service to see if the original supervisor who told me to bring it here can waive the fee, and tell the customer service rep about the managers behavior. I get put on hold with “scheduling” and wait for about 30 minutes outside in the cold to talk to someone.

While waiting outside as this location is now closed, the manager comes out and starts yelling at me again. One of the men is quietly apologizing to me as this is happening. She is raising her voice over me/talking over me and proceeded to tell me that she is “disappointed in me for calling customer service and telling them she was rude” she also said she was nothing but helpful and she was mad that I called.

At this point I’m freezing, exhausted, and still on hold, I want to go home. I was advised to not drop off the keys yet by the staff or I would be auto charged the extra $450 and instead to call the following day.

I was at Uhaul until 7:30!! Absolutely insane.

I call customer service again and finally a woman helps me create a dispute and she advises me to bring the keys back and they would fight any fees I was to be charged because I was instructed by Uhaul to bring the truck here. My partner had to Uber back to take photos of the truck and drop off the keys.

If you are looking for kindness, compassion, or help from this location’s manager on a stressful moving day, don’t come here. She was awful. Everyone else here was nice but can’t really help you.

Horrible Mobile pickup experience late at night after store hours. Went to go pick up a Cargo Van so i can move some stuff quickly. Was suppose to be a quick pick up and drop off. When i arrived around 9:30 i noticed 80% of the U-Haul's in the lot are being blocked off by other U-Haul trucks. I assumed it shouldn't be a problem and that the truck i rented wasnt blocked off. To my surprise my rental was not blocked off.

As I walk towards my rental the USELESS U-Haul app would not track my location properly for about 10 min. Then I spent another 20 minutes trying to scan my Driver's License with their stupid on app scanner that didnt work till i contacted customer support and waited another 10 minutes.

Okay everything's cool right? WRONG. The last person to use the U-Haul I rented did not put the key in the right lock box. Im assuming the employees didnt check that the lockbox was organized correctly before they left for the night. I said to myself "Okay customer support should be able to help me". WRONG AGAIN. Phone Support had me walking around the lot like a mad man looking for specific Vans/Trucks that were available for mobile pickup according to them. I could not find 2 out of the 5 U-Haul's they offered to switch me to and the other 3 were being BLOCKED OFF BY OTHER U-HAULS. When i asked the Rep about the vans that weren't blocked, she said "Those aren't registered for mobile pickup". Finally I gave up and asked for a refund.

2 hours of my time wasted on this nasty humid night and the customer support did not help one bit. When I was here last time during day hours the workers were extremely unhelpful and just dreaded being there. Not surprised the quality of this place hasnt changed. The U-Haul app is also horribly slow and all over the place/doesn't work half the time. Heres a photo of what the parking lot looked like.

Customer Service was impeccable from the moment I entered the door, there was a smile and a good morning.
Even when I went outside in the cold to wait for my driver, they asked me to come back inside.
The procedure to book book was a breeze with their help!
You have excellent devoted workers...I commend them!

Sorry to hear that other customers’ experience wasn’t like mine - because it thought this U-Haul was great. Have rented more than a few U-Haul’s over the years and this location made it easier than ever. Employees were courteous, timely, and knowledgeable. I was in and out with everything I needed. Truck was ready. Then drop off took 30 seconds.

wow. just...wow. this is one of the best interior design stores I have ever been to. they are really at the cutting-edge of furniture and room design. there's not a single repeating pattern in sight (finally!!) and all their chairs and couches are made of the same (recyclable!) material. the logo prominently on each piece is a great touch, a real commentary on the late 2010s large brand logo craze

Jennifer (store associate) at this location needs a major visit from HR! From the first interaction with her there was nothing not shortness and attitude towards us as well as every other guest that walked up to her with questions or to check out. But it didn’t end there. The way she talked to other associates was also shocking to see! The time spent in her presence left one of the worst impressions on us as paying customer. U-Haul, you need to reevaluate how you train employees if you think this is acceptable.

We were then told by Jennifer that the storage box was ready for us to offload and sent around back to where we were made to wait another 20min while the forklift driver shuffled boxes around that weren’t ours which was just off to the side. This is all unacceptable practices!
