Called in on the off chance and was seen within 15 minutes. They managed to fit me in later the same day for micro suctioning in my left ear. The staff were very friendly and David performed the procedure. He explained what was happening at all times and there was absolutely nothing to it. It was amazing. No pain whatsoever, just a noise in the ear which was not that loud. All in all a very pleasant experience!

I highly recommend Hearing Solutions to anyone who is wanting to get their hearing tested and fitted with a hearing aid.
I had my consultation and hearing tests last year. They confirmed my suspicion that I could no longer hear higher frequency sounds properly anymore, which is common problem as you get older, ( I am now 66). I also have tinnitus which is exacerbating my hearing loss.
I was fitted with Audibel Intrigue AI hearing aids the following week, which were set to my personal audiogram results. The improvement in my hearing, after a little tweaking, was incredible. I could hear bird song again, and the subtle sounds of nature that I hadn’t realised I couldn’t hear. Conversations were clear again and I stopped asking for the television to be turned up! The hear aids themselves are incredible, having many useful features and of course AI.
The only problem I had with my hearing aids was when I was playing any plucked instrument. I play lute, archlute, renaissance, baroque and classical guitar.
The first time I played my baroque guitar with my hearing aids, I thought it was broken! The sound was so badly distorted. This is a common problem I have discovered with many instrumentalists, who wear hearing aids.
I told Guy, at Hearing Solutions and he immediately contacted many of his colleagues.
Today, (19/08/24), I had another consultation and took along my baroque guitar. He told me about how thry has managed to develop a program on the Audibel mobile app, to minimise the distortion caused by the various device settings to make speech clear and understandable.
Whilst playing the guitar, Guy and his colleague tweaked this program. In a short space of time, I suddenly heard for the first time since I received it from the maker, how my baroque guitar actually sounded. I almost cried!
I have since used this program at home with my archlute and it sounded as I remembered when I picked it up from the maker in 1983!
I cannot express my gratitude enough to everyone at Hearing Solutions for their kindness and tenacity to solve any problem. Everyone working there are a genuinely pleased to see and listen to you on a personal and professional basis.

I’m really glad that IOM Hearing Solutions was recommended to me. There is easy parking right outside and what really impressed me was that everyone who walked past me as I was waiting said hello. That matters. I went to have the microsuction on my ears ahead of a hearing test. I appreciated the time taken to explain what was going to happen and what it was going to feel like and sound like. Never had an issue with my ears before, untill recently, where no matter what I tried could not unblock them.
Went for my appointment this morning and saw David.
He checked both my ears and they were indeed blocked and needed clearing.
He explained the process thoroughly and you were put at ease straight away.
The procedure for removal of wax, was completely painless and I was comfortable throughout the whole process.
The receptionists were welcoming and when booking my appointment were very helpful and friendly.
Highly recommend.

I accompanied my father-in-law to his appointment for ear wax removal, and was very impressed how David, the consultant, carefully explained each stage of the vacuum removal process, with great patience and humour.
