Living at The U has been amazing.

The office staff are very welcoming and responsive to my questions and concerns. The maintenance team responds quickly to issues in and outside of my unit when brought to their attention.

Overall this has been a very welcoming experience, I will be renewing my lease!

Since we have been here this is the 5th time we have requested to have our water heater fixed and the 3rd time in the last 30 days. Coming back home after it being below 60 degrees outside and having no hot water to shower in is extremely disappointing. Me and my apartment mates have no choice but to take freezing cold showers. I personally have been shivering and shaking forcing myself to take a shower under these conditions. On top of that, being sick and having to take a freezing cold shower is not helping my condition at all. Me and my apartment mates pay a hefty rent each month and cannot even get hot water to shower in. The 3rd time it happened officially was over a weekend a little bit ago and we were not sent a maintenance person to fix our issue for another day, having to suffer an extra day with cold water. I cannot believe that after 4 requests our issue with the heater still was not fixed. We asked maintenance for the water heater to be replaced and were told that they could not replace it unless there was a leak in it. Are we supposed to wait for maintenance every single time the heater breaks? Management expects me to put in a request over and over again and sit and wait until someone can come fix it. I would have hoped that after, again, 5 TIMES that the water heater has broken that management would replace it. It's ridiculous that I am paying all this money and I have to wait for someone else to repeatedly fix my water heater. We were stuck with a broken microwave earlier this year for WEEKS and nobody was able to fix it until I sent an email. I have sent an email about this issue on Saturday and have been completely ignored. The management for some reason does not want to respond to my emails and it is getting extremely ridiculous.

I moved out of U Apartments in August 2024, and it took months to get my security deposit back (even though state law requiring it to be returned promptly). Throughout the process, I encountered unprofessional management practices, and to make matters worse, I was subjected to a racist comment, which was deeply upsetting.

Additionally, your window will be right next to an outdoor air conditioner unit, which makes it impossible to enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep. I do not recommend this place at all.

I cant reply to my old review but dont check just my requests, check the requests of all the people living in the unit, this has been an issue for a while. And your “repair” is the same thing that you guys have been doing since the first time it broke which was to just turn it off and back on. You guys have not “repaired” it any differently then the first time it broke. Hence why it keeps breaking.

Went there to find a last minute apartment. The front office staff were very helpful with completing my application process and getting me squared away. Will recommend to my friends.

The new manager sucks. I genuinely think a newborn baby could manage better than Jason. He barely cares about us tenants. He has no problem piling on late fees or sending you emails about your rent, but when it comes to responding to your emails from a week ago, he loves to ignore doing his job. He will not accommodate for you if the system is messing up your payments. Do not live here as long as Jason is managing this place. I don’t know how he got this job. He is never in the actual office and you can’t reach him by email or phone.

I mean not only the U is open to non-student applicants but also when you are living in theU, sometimes some strangers will knock on you door heavily, which will make you scared. And the U said I have unpaid fee it is not correct, because the fee is replacement fee, the U told me the replacement fee increased from $400 to full month rent$900 just on the day when I returned my key.

Be really careful of renting this apartment. This is the worst apartment I’ve ever met. I never lived there. The staff here are trying every possible way to make profits from you, even in a very dishonest way. We did not complete the lease signing processes, they did not sign their name on the contract, and I never moved in. But after 4 years, they let a debt collection company to ask me to pay the rent for the whole year, and they put this debt on my credit record. Before receiving this debt, I never received any of their notice. It just came out of nowhere. Now I am spending tons of time dealing with this issue. I am also financially suffering from my credit damage.
